Hmm, what to title this post…?

By now you either think we’ve been eaten alive by crocodiles in Louisiana (since our map has been stuck there for a month) or you’ve realized we’re back home in New Jersey and figured we’ve abandoned Wanderful. Well, we did, for a few weeks, but not for good. I’d say it probably wasn’t a great idea but if you’re reading this now then hey, what was a few weeks without Wanderful? It wasn’t so bad was it? Compare the time spent waiting for an update from us, to the time we’ve all had to wait for Lost to come back after airing the last episodes eight months ago.

White Sands, NM

We sled down this dune over thirty times in an afternoon. Then we hiked for another hour to find a spot to watch the sunset, taking photos every step of the way (no really, when I uploaded them to my Macbook, it ran out of space!)

Highly recommended

On a Sunday we were on the New Mexico/Texas border photographing outside celebrations and roadside cacti. On Monday we were a hundred miles northeast, here:
White Sands, NM
Even after being there and taking this photo, it’s still convincing enough to have me believing it was taken somewhere in the arctic circle, and that’s a lone fishing shack in the middle of nowhere.

But it’s not. In fact it was warm enough for us to walk around like this all day:

OMG! We have some winners

The Wanderful + Emotibles The Many Moods of Mister Design Contest is now over. We had a lot of fun handing out Emotibles across the nation, but equally fun was the ability to design Emotibles online BASED ON OUR DOG! The contest, which was Mister inspired, was the neatest thing to us and we’re happy to have worked with such a creative company on this one. Mister had fun, strangers in the street had fun, and unsuspecting Emotibles fans had fun as well. After 805 entries, I’d say the contest was a success.

Have a Wanderful Christmas!!!

Wanderful Christmas!!!!!

HOORAY! It has been over a week since we last updated and you probably thought we had driven off a canyon side, never to be heard from again. Instead we have excuses, 16 hour driving day excuses. We’ll be back tomorrow and things will be explained. Please tune in again this coming week, we have many more tales to tell from the road. Until then, have an awesome Christmas.

The Border

Mark, Mister and I pulled off Route 20 in New Mexico to fill up on gas, when we had our first stray chihuahua sighting. “Look Mark, a CHIHUAHUAAAA!!!!” This particular chihuahua was looking adorable as he jumped up and down around the legs of customers walking into the store. I got out of the driver’s seat with my camera and started talking to him the way I talk to Mister,
“Well hello there good looking, ca-”
“BARKBARKYAPYAPYAPYAPYAPYAPYAPBARK.”
I grabbed Mister for bait, but this other chihuahua was not having it. Mark paid for the gas and we continued driving down 20 toward the border. We weren’t headed anywhere in particular. This drive was the result of many failed Google searches for New Mexico border town fun — when I found nothing but information on border towns in Mexico and how Americans should not cross the border or risk being kidnapped/murdered, I decided to forgo any planning and just drive until we found something interesting and Mexican.

From Zion to Bryce

I don’t know if I can say it enough, but I am enamored by the landscapes America has to offer. I never thought one of the best things about the road trip would be the time spent in the car, but I’ve been more entertained driving through Idaho than I was hanging out in San Diego. The most interesting thing is that almost everywhere in the states, if you drive for three hours, you’re liable to find a completely different landscape than the one you started out in. The Badlands in South Daktoa, which look like something from another planet, colorful pointy mountain-like formations that crumble to the touch, are located less than fifty miles from the short, rounded, dark, tree-filled Black Hills, where Mount Rushmore is located.

It was no surprise to me, when we drove from Zion to Bryce Canyon, that the two look completely different from each other.

Where’s my update?

Hey guys, I started writing a short post for the Daily Photo, and was planning to write something here - instead the Daily Photo post turned out to be the longest post ever. Click HERE to read that one.

In other news: PLEASE email us or leave a comment with your T@B questions/inqueries. We posted a call for questions last week and have received only two questions so far for our T@B Tour video. What kind of crap is that?! I know you want to know “Where do you keep all your belongings in such a small space?!?!” and “Does that thing have a shower?!?” Well, we can’t answer those questions until you ASK US. ASK NOW!

Welcome to Utah

Zion (Day 1)

Just pulled into Zion National Park here in Utah. It’s been an exhausting couple of days of driving and eating junk food. We finally made it and, man, this fresh air is a rejuvenating change from the fumes on I-15. Last night we rested in the noisy parking lot of the most glamorous Wal-Mart in the country, Wal-Mart: Las Vegas. Tonight we’re sleeping under the stars — that is, we will be when we get back to the campground. There’s no wifi there, so we’re crouching in the car in the parking lot of a hotel with password-free wireless internet, trying not to call attention to ourselves due to the glow of our computer screens.
