This is why I love the internet

One of the many reasons we started this blog was so that people who are road tripping themselves, can google, say, “Chicago vegetarian”, and find out that the Chicago Diner is a really great vegetarian restaurant and yes, you should all go there.  Here is another reason:

If you visit Portland, Oregon and are looking for a place to park your camper or RV, DO NOT stay at Columbia River RV Park, instead stay at Jantzen Beach RV Park.  We stayed at the Jantzen park for about 5 nights and it was AWESOME - it costs $27 a night (with AAA discount), we got free wifi (good for a week, after that you have to pay), it is really well maintained and made me feel like I was living in a little town.  We left the park yesterday and stayed in the Store-That-Shall-Not-Be-Named’s parking lot in order to save some money.  We thought we might just shower at a truck stop today but then decided hey, if we have electricity to plug our computers into and free wifi, and don’t have to pay double the meters in Portland to park the jeep and the T@B, maybe it would be worth it to camp again.  We didn’t want to go back to Jantzen because we thought it would be dumb to go back to the same place - I know, that is not even an excuse!  We knew Jantzen’s campground was great and should have just gone back there.  Instead we arrived at Columbia River RV Park, I walked in and talked to the lady for a minute.  I told her we called earlier about just using the shower, but we decided to come camp instead so we could use the internet to update our website.  Assuming this lady heard what I said about needing the internet, we gave her our card and were charged $30 for the space ($3 more than Jantzen). Then Mark asked for the internet password she told us it costs $4.95 a night eachWTF!?!?!! No lady, that is some major BS, give me my money back.  Ooooh sorry, we don’t do refunds.  Right - 10 minutes later our receipt prints - hey lady, you could have canceled our credit card in the 10 minutes it took to go through and for the receipt to print.  No?  Okay, well then I’ll just write about how you guys are a huge rip off on our website.  So remember my fellow road trippers who have found Wanderful when googling Columbia River RV Park to find out if it’s any good:
Columbia River RV Park = Rip off: No free wifi, $3 more ($8 if you want the internet), and definitely not as nice looking as Jantzen Beach RV Park (although this is a clean park, it’s just not homey)
Jantzen Beach RV Park = A way better deal.
Oh I need to add that at both parks you can hear airplanes taking off and landing - at Jantzen it didn’t bother us one bit, but for some reason at Columbia River RV Park the F-16s are 20 times louder

Thanks for nothing.

Love, Katie

Kt next time that happens - LEAVE. Contact your credit card company and dispute the charges. That is one of the beauties of using a credit card - you have someone else to do your fighting. You were not satisfied - she should have just refunded the card.
